About this game
Circle1 aims to be the ultimate frisbee golf simulator for VR. We combine realistic flight models based on actual disc physics with virtual experiences built from the ground up, focusing on immersion and performance on mobile and desktop VR platforms. Circle1 is currently in the pre-release phase and we are working with the tester community to ensure the quality of our virtual frisbee golf experience is excellent.
features
- Realistic physics models: We spent a year working with the Frisbee golfer community and consulting with physicists to build great Frisbee simulations. In Circle1, each disk is modeled to have its own personality and flight characteristics, based on real-world physics and wind tunnel testing. Creating the most authentic frisbee golf experience ever isn’t just our goal, it’s our obsession.
- Throw line: Use the throw line to set your desired release point and angle, the throw line will help correct minor errors caused by VR tracking to simulate your desired release. Circle1 rewards good moves and accurate shots without punishing players due to VR’s limitations.
- High performance: Circle1 was built from the ground up with a focus on performance. Every part of the game – from physics simulations to lighting – is designed for modern VR headsets. The Oculus Quest 1 version of Circle2 currently runs comfortably at 90 FPS.
- Platform agnostic: This game was built with all modern headsets in mind. Although our current version is for the Oculus platform, this is by no means a technical or implementation limitation that prevents Circle1 from playing on other VR headsets. Our goal is to bring Circle1 to all popular VR platforms.
- Program disc textures: Each disc in Circle1 has its own personality. The skin for each disc is procedurally generated using a similar technique used in real-world disc staining.
- Target physics and sound effects: We pay special attention to modeling and simulating the reaction of frisbee and frisbee golf targets. This includes not only modeling the physics of collisions in different areas of the target, but also manually recording hundreds of audio samples to simulate the sound of disc impacts.
- Custom music: Circle1 works with artists to produce custom music for game menus and practice areas.
